time's not working
words that seemed so long ago
are said to now come very slow
time's not working
remiss to when the clock was right
the nit will say today's tonight

and now it's 15 hours
since the dour rootage of it all
the more i groan the sorer
my throat before the truth will cast a pall

mrs. engineer of the rhymes
be a volunteer of the times

see to it that time is fixed
and free the nits from in-betwixt
the words that seemed so long ago
and words that seem absurdly slow

and when the clock was known as right
betwixt today, last may and night
can't we be free from day and night
